Day 1: Athens
Begin your Greek odyssey in the heart of Athens, the cradle of Western civilization. The Louisa Farms team will warmly welcome you at 10 am at Fresh Hotel, our chic accommodation for the night. Here, amidst fellow explorers, we'll break the ice and set the stage for our grand adventure.
After a few icebreakers, we are off for our first adventure! Our first venture is a journey through time at the Acropolis, the enduring symbol of democracy and ancient wisdom. Stand where gods were revered, and ideas that shaped the world were born. Following the footsteps of history, we'll delve into the wonders of the Acropolis Museum, a treasure trove of ancient artifacts and stories.
After filling our hearts and heads with ancient splendors we will fill our bellies with a delicious lunch and cool off at a hidden local gem tucked away in the maze-like alleys of downtown Athens.
After lunch, we head back to our hotel and check into our rooms. From 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm you are welcome to explore the immense local shopping district or relax and rest in preparation for an engaging evening.
As dusk falls, at 6:00 pm we reconvene for a stroll through Plaka's lively streets. This neighborhood, alive with cafes, tavernas, and artisanal charm, leads us to our first evening feast, a local taverna, where wine, music, and authentic Athenian cuisine meet. After our feast? Well, theater of course! And not just any theater but a modern interpretation of ancient Greek comedy on top of a gorgeous Venetian rooftop with the stunning acropolis as a backdrop (pending availability).
Day 2: Delphi
We will begin our day at 8:00 am in the hotel lobby for a journey back in time to Delphi, known as the center of the world in ancient Greek lore. As we embark on this mystical journey, remember to bring all your belongings for the next leg of our adventure.
En route to Delphi, around 10:00 am, we'll embrace the local way of life with a coffee break at a traditional 'Kafenio' in the quaint town of Livadia. This is your chance to savor authentic Greek coffee and absorb the charming ambiance of a typical Greek village.
By noon, we will arrive at our elegant hotel in Delphi, a town as steeped in history as it is in natural beauty. Here, we'll take some time to settle in and enjoy a lunch that offers a taste of local cuisine – a culinary journey through the flavors of the region.
In the afternoon, prepare to tread the historically sacred grounds of Delphi. We’ll visit the ancient site where the oracle of Apollo once stood, a place revered as a center of wisdom and prophecy. Our exploration includes the Delphi Archaeological Museum, home to artifacts that echo the voices of the past.
As the day wanes, we'll venture to the picturesque town of Arachova. Renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and culinary delights, this mountainous village is the perfect backdrop for an evening stroll and dinner. Here, traditional Greek cuisine, live music, and a warm, welcoming environment will provide a delightful end to our day.
Day 3: Meteora
Join us at 8:00 am in the hotel lobby as we set off for the awe-inspiring Meteora, a place where nature and spirituality merge in a breathtaking display. As we venture towards these ancient sanctuaries, ensure you have all your belongings for this segment of our unforgettable journey.
Upon arriving around 1:00 pm, you'll be greeted by the sight of majestic rock formations crowned with historic monasteries. Meteora, ancient Greek for 'suspended in air', lives up to its name as a testament to human faith and architectural ingenuity.
We will take a moment to enjoy a leisurely lunch, offering a selection of local Greek cuisine. This is a chance to savor the flavors of the region while surrounded by the serene beauty of Meteora.
The afternoon will be dedicated to exploring the mystical monasteries of Meteora. You will have the option of embarking on a guided nature hike to the monastery or hopping on our tour bus for a less physically demanding way to reach the monasteries. or Each monastery, a beacon of Byzantine art and spirituality, stands as a symbol of devotion, perched atop these natural pillars. The breathtaking views and the tranquil atmosphere here offer a truly unique experience, blending spiritual history with natural wonder.
Following our exploration, we will return to our hotel. As evening falls, a leisurely walk will lead us to dinner, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s magical encounters. The blend of Meteora's spiritual tranquility and the day's discoveries culminates in a peaceful and satisfying conclusion.
Day 4: Ancient Olympia
We meet at 8:00 am in the hotel lobby, ready to depart for Ancient Olympia, the hallowed birthplace of the Olympic Games. Please ensure you have all your belongings as we embark on this journey to where athletes across the ancient world once competed for glory and honor.
Our anticipated arrival at Ancient Olympia is around 1:00 pm. Here, you'll step into a world where myth and history intertwine, a site dedicated to Zeus, the king of the Greek gods. Olympia is not just a historical site but a symbol of the enduring spirit of athletic excellence and international unity.
Following a lunch imbued with local flavors, we will delve into the heart of Olympia. Explore the ancient stadium, the training grounds, and the temples, all resonating with the echoes of ancient competitors. Our guide will share stories of the past and teach about the important role the Olympic games played in antiquity that went far beyond sport. It's a place to contemplate the Olympic creed, epitomized by champions like Bonnie Blair: 'Winning doesn’t always mean being first, winning means you’re doing better than you’ve ever done before.
As the day draws to a close, we will check into our beautiful boutique hotel in Olympia. At 6:00 pm, gather for a dinner where we can share stories and insights from our day among the ruins. Day 5 & 6: Kefalonia

Awaken to the promise of adventure and savor a delightful breakfast in the Olympia hotel lobby before we embark at 9:00 am on our scenic journey to Kefalonia. The drive to Kyllini and the subsequent ferry ride promise to be as enchanting as our destination. Kefalonia, the jewel of the Ionian Sea, awaits us with its unparalleled natural beauty and rich cultural tapestry.
Upon arrival and check-in at our hotel at 2:00 pm, we'll waste no time delving into the island’s unique agrarian heart. Our exploration includes an enlightening visit to a local winery, where biodynamic methods meet the rhythms of the astrological calendar, a visit to a traditional dairy farm known for its exquisite fetta cheese, and a captivating tour of Louisa Farms' olive groves, revealing the secrets behind our delectably healthy olive oil. Prepare your senses for a symphony of flavors and aromas.
As the sun kisses the horizon, we'll gather at the stunning Petani Beach. Whether you choose to swim in its crystal-clear waters or lounge on the sun-kissed sand, the evening is yours to relish. Our day culminates with a beachside sunset dinner, offering a feast of Kefalonia's finest culinary delights, in a taverna that's a true hidden gem.
Day 6
Adventure or Leisure – The Choice is Yours - Daybreak on Kefalonia brings a hearty breakfast and an exciting proposition: 'Choose your adventure.' For the thrill-seekers, join a Louisa Farms family member and our expert kayak crew for a day of exploration along the Mediterranean’s most stunning beaches. It's a chance to discover the island’s coastal wonders up close and learn about the coastal geography and wildlife.
Alternatively, if a leisurely pace is more to your liking, accompany us to the mystical Melisani Lake, where crystal-clear waters create a serene, almost otherworldly, setting. Following this tranquil visit, we'll indulge in the exquisite offerings of the renowned Robola Winery, tasting some of the island's most celebrated wines.
Post-adventure, both groups will reunite for a late lunch, sharing stories and experiences from the morning’s escapades. The afternoon offers a leisurely exploration of Argostoli, Kefalonia’s bustling capital. Meander through its charming, winding streets, and experience the legacy of Venetian elegance that permeates the town's architecture. Your free time here is a chance to discover local shops and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
As twilight descends, we'll gather in Lixouri for a special dinner at a taverna owned by a family friend. Here, you'll be treated to a spread that showcases the unique flavors of Kefalonia, accompanied by a surprise live musical performance, making for an evening of delightful dining and entertainment.
Day 7 & 8: Corinth, Athens & Voulgiagmeni Lake

The day begins with a hearty breakfast and a peaceful 2-hour ferry ride, offering stunning views of the Ionian Sea's azure waters. Relax on deck, feel the sea breeze, and perhaps capture some final memorable photos of the islands receding in the distance.
Our journey continues with a comfortable 5-hour bus ride through Greece's picturesque landscapes. To break up the trip, we'll stop at the historic Corinth Canal – an engineering marvel and a sight to behold. This one-hour interlude is not just a rest stop but an opportunity to marvel and learn about this important and iconic canal, a testament to human ingenuity.
Upon our evening arrival in Athens, check into your hotel and find a special surprise waiting for you: a personalized gift basket from Louisa Farms, filled with Greek delicacies and keepsakes, as a token of our gratitude for joining us on this incredible journey.
